Salary: EUR 52,500 - 73,000 / annual

You will join the Search team as a Software Engineer responsible for designing and developing NeuralSearch, Algolia's cloud-based AI search engine that combines keyword and vector search capabilities. The team builds distributed systems that orchestrate index building, storage, and querying of customer data at scale, processing billions of queries monthly.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the design and development of Search and Indexing systems
- Operating the Search system with participation in on-call rotation
- Ensuring system quality and architectural soundness
- Troubleshooting and resolving high-impact issues across teams
- Sharing expertise on distributed systems architecture
You should have production experience designing and operating distributed systems, working with large datasets and high-traffic environments. Strong fundamentals in code quality, automated testing, and engineering best practices are essential. The role requires excellent English communication skills and ideally experience at high-growth companies in the $50-200M ARR range.
Nice-to-have skills include Go, Kubernetes, and Site Reliability Engineering experience. The team is mostly remote but you have flexibility to work fully remote, hybrid, or office-based from Paris. Algolia emphasizes impact and contribution over physical location in a high-trust environment.
