Salary: EUR 5,000 - 7,000 / monthly
ICEYE is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Fleet Control and Satellite Communications team, reporting to an Engineering Manager. You'll own components of the payload downlink pipeline responsible for reliably streaming data from ICEYE's SAR satellite constellation to the ground. Your work includes integrating with globally distributed ground station streams, decoding payload data, implementing error correction and decryption, and routing data for downstream processing. As the constellation scales, you'll anticipate edge cases and failure modes, debug production issues in a latency-sensitive distributed system, and collaborate across ground station connectivity, downlink, and data teams to ensure end-to-end data flow.
You'll write clean, tested, maintainable code primarily in Go, contribute to code reviews and engineering standards, and leverage AI-assisted tools where they genuinely improve delivery or debugging. This is a permanent hybrid role based in Espoo, Finland, subject to applicable security screening.
Required qualifications include proven professional software engineering experience in backend or distributed systems with production exposure; proficiency in Go or a comparable statically typed language; hands-on experience with Docker and containerized environments; experience building or operating production systems where reliability and correctness are critical; working knowledge of relational databases like PostgreSQL; strong debugging and problem-solving skills; pragmatic experience with AI/LLM tools; and strong English communication skills.
Nice-to-have skills include hands-on AWS experience, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, exposure to data infrastructure at scale or streaming systems, and interest in satellite communications or operationally critical environments.
