Anduril Industries is seeking a Software Engineer to build and operate command-and-control software for real space missions. You will develop backend services on the Lattice for Space C2 (LSC2) platform, which serves as the ground-side control center for satellite operations. This role involves designing and deploying modular capabilities that interface with radios, ground-station networks, flight computers, and legacy defense systems to execute missions for DoD and Intelligence Community customers. Key responsibilities include owning software solutions end-to-end from API design through production deployment and operation. You will build backend services across the Space C2 stack using Go, gRPC, and Protobuf, handling command and telemetry, mission planning, ground-station management, space-to-ground protocol stacks, file transfer, and access control. You'll deploy services in secure government cloud environments using containers and Kubernetes, participate in on-call support for live missions, and integrate with spacecraft, ground infrastructure, software-defined radios, antenna systems, and astrodynamics tools. The role requires writing and evolving protobuf API contracts, building software-in-the-loop simulations to validate operations, integrating with legacy systems, and conducting rigorous code reviews. You will collaborate across teams to plan and test complex functionality, create monitoring and debugging metrics, triage issues, and partner with end-users to translate requirements into features. Required qualifications include 4+ years building backend and distributed systems in Go, Rust, or C++, with production experience shipping and operating services on Kubernetes and cloud platforms. You must have experience integrating software with physical systems, including hardware control, embedded interfaces, or real-time data pipelines. Strong problem-solving skills, collaboration discipline, and the ability to obtain a Top Secret SCI security clearance are essential. Preferred experience includes space/aerospace domain knowledge in telemetry, commanding, ground stations, antenna systems, RF/waveform technology, and orbital mechanics.
