You will join the Key Insight team as a Software Engineer focused on building and maintaining an observability platform for cloud security solutions. This is a backend-focused role where you'll code primarily in Rust, designing and implementing microservices and REST APIs that power Fortanix's security infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Converting product requirements into technical designs and implementation plans
- Building and operating backend microservices and REST APIs for the observability platform
- Analyzing and resolving performance and scalability issues in distributed systems running on confidential computing infrastructure
- Designing and evolving database architecture to support scalable, reliable data access patterns
- Driving code quality through peer reviews with emphasis on stability and security
You should have 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Rust for backend systems. Experience with distributed systems, microservices architectures, and REST API design is essential. You'll need solid understanding of observability concepts (monitoring, logging, distributed tracing) and hands-on experience with database architecture, scaling, and optimization. Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes are required. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are valued.
