Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in robotics tracking and sensor fusion to join a small, innovative team focused on transforming military capabilities through advanced technology. You will define and influence the direction of tracking and state estimation work, leveraging deep subject-matter expertise in target tracking algorithms and multi-sensor data fusion.
Key responsibilities include prototyping and deploying state-of-the-art algorithms for tracking, multi-sensor data fusion, and state estimation in agile development environments. You will develop high-performance software for real-time systems spanning tactical implementations, simulation environments, and decision support tools. The role requires designing and implementing robust filters, estimators, and probabilistic reasoning systems that extract actionable insights from noisy, ambiguous, or incomplete sensor data.
You will analyze system performance using high-fidelity simulations and rigorous statistical techniques to validate technology benefits. A significant portion of the work involves driving customer success by customizing algorithms and software for mission-critical use cases, including real-time tracking and sensor fusion. You will integrate tracking and estimation technologies into the broader software development lifecycle, from requirements definition through testing and optimization, and translate technical progress into clear insights for diverse stakeholders.
Required qualifications include proficiency in algorithm design, software development, and statistical modeling with expertise in C/C++, Python, and Matlab. You must have strong knowledge of target tracking techniques such as Kalman filters, particle filters, and multi-target tracking algorithms (JPDA, MHT, PHD filters). Experience in state estimation, Bayesian filtering, sensor fusion, and recursive estimation techniques is essential. You should possess solid understanding of applied mathematics including linear algebra, optimization, probability, and stochastic processes, plus knowledge of signal processing for diverse sensor data (radar, lidar, EO/IR). Familiarity with big data pipelines, NoSQL databases, and large-scale sensor data handling is required. Background in machine learning applied to target tracking and recognition, including clustering, classification, and anomaly detection, is expected. You must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
