Cloudflare is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Registrar team, which manages the full lifecycle of domain management—from searching and registering new domains to transferring and renewing existing ones. This role is part of the gateway that onboards domains onto Cloudflare's platform, unlocking access to the company's vast array of services.
You'll design, build, run, and scale tools and services that support domain management at massive scale. The Registrar product processes enormous request volumes using the latest technology to ensure scalability and availability. Your responsibilities include analyzing and communicating complex technical requirements with technical leaders, improving system design and architecture for stability and performance, and participating in on-call rotations for production services.
The ideal candidate has 4+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on designing, building, and scaling data infrastructure. You should be proficient in high-performance languages such as Java, Go, TypeScript, or Ruby/Rails, with strong systems-level programming skills and a passion for debugging complex systems. You'll need excellent communication abilities to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, experience with continuous integration workflows and git, and enthusiasm for optimizing solutions to problems that impact millions of websites.
Bonus qualifications include experience with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, relational databases like Postgres, DNS/DNSSEC, monitoring tools (Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus), GitLab CI, OpenAPI, AI coding tools, and familiarity with the Cloudflare Developer Platform.
