Fieldguide is automating and streamlining assurance and audit work for global commerce and capital markets, with a focus on cybersecurity, privacy, and financial audits. The company is backed by Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Floodgate, and Y Combinator, and serves over 50 of the top 100 accounting and consulting firms.
This role owns quality and automation for large enterprise deployments, sitting at the center of Fieldguide's shift toward agentic tooling. You'll develop a world-class QA function built from an agent-first lens, using AI agents to automate the repetitive work of finding, reproducing, and resolving issues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Keeping SaaS and PaaS environments consistent so customer behavior matches across deployments and configuration drift doesn't become a defect
- Building automation capacity for bug handling using agentic tooling (triage, reproduction, routing) that runs without human intervention
- Using agentic tools to resolve bugs yourself and ship fixes rather than filing tickets
- Running repeatable bug bashes on new features before release
- Owning bug reporting and communication: severity-weighted trends, hotspots, and clear quality trajectory for engineering leadership and customers
- Working closely with customers to integrate deeply with their processes and improve issue reporting, fix validation, and release readiness
- Improving internal automated testing: coverage, CI signal reliability, and reducing flakiness
- Closing the loop from customer-reported issues back to the test or environment check that would have caught them
- Supporting evaluation efforts by creating and curating datasets for agent quality
The posting indicates hiring across all levels, with seniority calibrated during interviews. Senior-level responsibilities may include owning the customer's quality experience end-to-end, setting agentic automation strategy, defining environment parity standards, and mentoring other engineers. Staff-level responsibilities may include setting quality standards across Engineering, driving company-level initiatives, and serving as a trusted advisor to leadership.

- Python, TypeScript, React, Postgres, Hasura, GraphQL
- E2E and integration frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress
- Experience with both multi-tenant SaaS and single-tenant or self-managed enterprise deployments
- Infrastructure exposure for environment parity work: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform

- Experience building agentic workflows or internal tooling with LLMs
- Performance and load testing, especially on long-running workflows
- Security and compliance environments (SOC 2, FedRAMP, or similar)
