Constantinople is building an AI-native banking platform that consolidates customer experience, product, data, operations, compliance, and infrastructure into a single managed solution for banks. The platform eliminates expensive infrastructure and replaces manual operational and compliance processes with AI at scale.
In this role, you will own production incidents on a live banking platform end-to-end. When an incident lands with you, you will find the root cause in code, data, or infrastructure, then fix it or collaborate with senior engineers to ship the fix. You will work across the full platform including payments, lending, deposits, the core ledger, and connecting services—providing breadth early in your career.
Key responsibilities:
- Own medium and low impact incidents from assignment through resolution within agreed SLAs
- Investigate issues across services, logs, databases, and code to identify root causes
- Write fixes independently or coordinate with the Change team for significant hotfixes
- Raise problem records for residual impact and recurring incidents, driving investigation to permanent fixes
- Coordinate Post Incident Reviews for critical and high priority incidents with Engineering Managers
- Convert PIR and investigation actions into tracked problem tickets and follow through to closure
- Use AI coding and analysis tools to diagnose and resolve issues faster
- Convert manual runbooks into scripts, tools, and automated workflows
- Help design and build systems that automate triage, diagnosis, and resolution of routine incidents
- Work closely with Operations to provide consistent coverage and support
- Proactively find and fix issues in production before they become incidents
You will use AI tools daily to diagnose issues, trace problems across services, and draft fixes. Over time, you will help build automation that takes over routine work, with the goal of creating a self-running support function.
Requirements:
- 2–4 years of experience as a software engineer, ideally with production support or on-call experience
- Strong proficiency in at least one language: TypeScript, Java, Kotlin, or Python
- Ability to read and debug code you did not write in large codebases
- Strong SQL skills for investigating data issues directly
- Understanding of how distributed systems fail (timeouts, retries, race conditions, partial failures)
- Current use of AI tools in your work with desire to push them further
- Interest in understanding the whole platform, not just one service
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and communicate clearly with engineers, operations, and stakeholders during incidents
- Focus on fixing root causes, not symptoms
