Harmonic is building a mathematical reasoning engine using Lean 4 and reinforcement learning to achieve absolute precision in AI reasoning. The company recently achieved gold-medal-level performance on the 2025 International Math Olympiad and has resolved long-standing open problems, demonstrating AI's capability in rigorous domains. Backed by prominent investors, Harmonic is scaling an elite technical team. As a Software Engineer, Product, you will own end-to-end product development for Harmonic's flagship product, driving both product architecture and core infrastructure. You will work closely with the Head of Product and design team to translate complex technical capabilities into intuitive, feature-rich user interactions. Key responsibilities include architecting and optimizing full-stack components to process and render complex, interactive data streams; designing and maintaining scalable APIs and data flow architectures; managing and scaling backend systems and cloud infrastructure for reliability and observability; and partnering with design, research, and leadership teams throughout the development lifecycle. You will need 5+ years of hands-on experience building production applications at scale, with strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, and modern web technologies, plus Python for backend logic and data pipelines. Deep experience designing distributed systems, RESTful/GraphQL APIs, and integrating frontend and backend services is essential. You should have a proven track record collaborating across design, product, research, and infrastructure teams to ship user-facing products from concept to launch, with demonstrated product sense and ability to operate in fast-paced, collaborative environments. Preferred qualifications include experience building high-throughput messaging pipelines or real-time data systems, complex web applications, and ideally founding or early-stage product development experience.
