Robinhood's Proactive Capabilities team is building novel security tooling and automation to eliminate business impact from threat actors. As a Software Engineer on this team, you will design, build, and scale engineering tools that empower Security Engineers, eliminate operational toil, and expand security coverage across Robinhood's platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and scale flexible, reliable security tooling and services that improve visibility and expand scan coverage across Robinhood and its entities
- Design and deploy AI agents and security automation workflows to drive proactive security risk discovery and remediation
- Partner cross-functionally with Security Engineering and Product Engineering teams to establish secure-by-default software design patterns and paved paths
- Participate in design and system reviews alongside Proactive Security initiatives
- Participate in an on-call rotation to maintain high availability and reliability for critical team security services
Required qualifications:
- Proven software engineering fundamentals and practical system design skills, with experience building scalable, reliable microservices and tools
- Proficiency in Go or Python (preference for Go)
- Hands-on experience building and deploying services in cloud environments (AWS preferred, or GCP equivalent)
- Solid foundational knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes concepts
- Strong security domain context, including understanding of the attacker lifecycle, application security concepts, and hands-on experience developing or integrating security tooling
- Pragmatic, curious, and collaborative mindset with ability to navigate ambiguous problem spaces
Bonus qualifications include experience with AI/LLMs for security problems, developer productivity initiatives, AppSec background, bug bounty participation, or advanced Kubernetes/enterprise security platform experience.
