The Platform team is responsible for all backend services including payments, analytics, subscriptions, text-to-speech engines, and external APIs. As a Software Engineer on this team, you will design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including the public TTS API and internal services for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking. You'll oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
Key responsibilities include designing scalable backend systems, enhancing API performance, working on B2B solutions for enterprise clients, and ensuring systems meet business and scalability requirements. The role is ideal for someone who thinks strategically, enjoys fast-paced environments, is passionate about product decisions, and has experience building great user experiences.
Required skills: backend development with TypeScript/Node.js, direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers. Preferred qualifications include Docker and containerized deployments, Kubernetes for high-availability applications, and efficiency in prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact.
