Salary: USD 30,000 - 55,000 / annual
Speechify is a text-to-speech platform used by over 50 million people to convert PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio. With ~200 employees globally in a fully distributed setting, Speechify is building products that remove reading barriers for people with learning differences like dyslexia and ADD.
The Platform team is responsible for building and maintaining all backend services including payments, analytics, subscriptions, text-to-speech engines, and external APIs. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining robust APIs that power Speechify's products at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop robust APIs including the public TTS API, internal APIs for Payment, Subscription, Auth, and Consumption Tracking
- Oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability
- Collaborate on B2B solutions with focus on customization and integration for enterprise clients
- Work with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience
Required experience: Backend development with TypeScript/Node.js, GCP, and cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS, Azure, or equivalent). Preferred skills include Docker, containerized deployments, and Kubernetes for high-availability applications.
