The Platform team is responsible for building and maintaining all backend services including payments, analytics, subscriptions, text-to-speech engines, and external APIs. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining robust APIs—including the public TTS API and internal services for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking. You'll oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy. Key responsibilities include designing scalable APIs that meet business requirements, enhancing backend systems for performance, collaborating on B2B solutions for enterprise clients, and working closely with product and frontend teams to deliver exceptional user experiences. Required qualifications: proven backend development experience with TypeScript/Node.js, direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers. Preferred skills include Docker containerization and Kubernetes deployment experience.
