Salary: USD 140,000 - 200,000 / annual

The Platform team is responsible for all backend services including payments, analytics, subscriptions, text-to-speech engines, and external APIs. As a Software Engineer on this team, you'll design, develop, and maintain robust APIs that power Speechify's products and B2B solutions. Key responsibilities include building and optimizing the public TTS API, internal APIs for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking. You'll oversee the full backend API landscape, enhance performance and maintainability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
The ideal candidate has proven backend development experience with TypeScript/Node.js (required), direct experience with Google Cloud Platform, and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers. Preferred qualifications include Docker containerization and Kubernetes deployment experience. You should be efficient in ideation and implementation, able to prioritize tasks by urgency and impact, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can think strategically and make product decisions.
