The Platform team is responsible for building and maintaining all backend services that power Speechify's products, including payments, analytics, subscriptions, text-to-speech engines, and external APIs. This role is ideal for someone who thinks strategically, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is passionate about making product decisions that delight users.
As a Software Engineer on the Platform team, you will design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including the public TTS API and internal services for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking. You'll oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration for enterprise clients, and align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience.
The ideal candidate has proven backend development experience with TypeScript/Node.js (required), direct experience with Google Cloud Platform, and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers. Preferred qualifications include Docker and containerized deployment experience, as well as proficiency in deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes. You should be efficient in ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact.
