Salary: USD 140,000 - 200,000 / annual
Speechify is a text-to-speech platform used by over 50 million people globally to convert PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio. The Platform team is responsible for building and maintaining all backend services including payments, analytics, subscriptions, new products, text-to-speech APIs, and external integrations. This role is ideal for someone who thinks strategically, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is passionate about making product decisions while building delightful user experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including the public TTS API, internal APIs for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking
- Oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability
- Collaborate on B2B solutions with focus on customization and integration for enterprise clients
- Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy
Required qualifications:
- Proven backend development experience with TypeScript/Node.js
- Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact
Preferred qualifications:
- Docker and containerized deployment experience
- Kubernetes proficiency for high-availability applications
