The Platform team is responsible for building and maintaining all backend services including payments, analytics, subscriptions, new products, text-to-speech infrastructure, and external APIs. This role is ideal for someone who thinks strategically, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is passionate about making product decisions while building great user experiences. You will design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including the public TTS API and internal APIs for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking. You'll oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience. You'll also work on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration for enterprise clients. The ideal candidate has proven backend development experience with TypeScript/Node.js (required), direct experience with GCP, and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers. Preferred qualifications include Docker and containerized deployments, plus proficiency in deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes. You should be efficient in ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact. Speechy values work ethic, solid communication, and obsession with winning.
