Salary: USD 30,000 - 65,000 / annual

With ~200 employees globally in a fully distributed setting, Speechify is building products that remove reading barriers for people with dyslexia, ADD, and other learning differences.
The Platform team is responsible for building and maintaining all backend services including payments, analytics, subscriptions, text-to-speech APIs, and external integrations. This role is ideal for someone who thinks strategically, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is passionate about making product decisions that delight users.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including the public TTS API, internal APIs for Payment, Subscription, Auth, and Consumption Tracking
- Oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability
- Collaborate on B2B solutions with focus on customization and integration for enterprise clients
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience
Required qualifications:
- Proven backend development experience with TypeScript/Node.js
- Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact
Preferred qualifications:
- Docker and containerized deployment experience
- Kubernetes and high-availability application deployment
