The Platform team is responsible for all backend services including payments, analytics, subscriptions, text-to-speech engines, and external APIs. As a Software Engineer on this team, you'll design, develop, and maintain robust APIs that power the product—including the public TTS API, internal services for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking. You'll oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align architecture with product strategy.
Key responsibilities include designing scalable backend systems, enhancing API performance, collaborating on B2B enterprise solutions, and working closely with product and frontend teams. The role requires strong backend development skills in TypeScript/Node.js and direct experience with Google Cloud Platform. Preferred qualifications include Docker, containerization, and Kubernetes deployment experience. You should be efficient at prioritizing tasks by urgency and impact, thrive in fast-paced environments, and be passionate about product decisions that delight users.
