Ambrook is a Series A fintech startup backed by Thrive Capital, Dylan Field, and Homebrew, rebuilding financial infrastructure for American family-run businesses. The company helps independent operators in agriculture, forestry, and other land-based industries gain financial clarity and access capital through modern accounting, banking, and spending tools. As a Platform Engineer, you'll build foundational systems that enable the entire engineering organization and product teams to move faster. Your mandate spans product infrastructure (PostgreSQL databases, GCP cloud environment) and company infrastructure (internal tooling, data platforms, AI agent systems). The tech stack is primarily TypeScript with GCP scripting. This role uniquely combines infrastructure judgment with a product mindset. You'll treat internal teams—both engineering and non-engineering—as platform customers, learning how they work and iterating based on real feedback. A significant portion of your work will focus on building shared infrastructure for agentic systems: evaluation frameworks, agent loops, harnesses, sandboxes, and operational dashboards that let any team request, deploy, and monitor agents with confidence. Within your first month, you'll build a mental model of Ambrook's infrastructure, develop stakeholder relationships, ship a meaningful improvement to production, and identify platform priorities. By three months, you'll own a platform project end-to-end, execute a production database or cloud migration safely, ship a slice of agent infrastructure, and establish tight feedback loops. Within six months, you'll expand shared agent infrastructure, drive the platform roadmap, deliver substantial infrastructure improvements, and raise standards across the engineering team. You bring hands-on experience building and operating production platform or infrastructure systems, with proven expertise in PostgreSQL and GCP. You've planned and executed migrations at scale with proper validation, observability, and rollback strategies. You're security-minded, comfortable with the interfaces and product surfaces that make infrastructure useful, and you treat infrastructure work as a customer-centric discipline. Bonus experience includes building infrastructure for agentic systems, application/infrastructure security, or financial products where auditability and data integrity are critical.
