Salary: USD 30,000 - 120,000 / annual
Speechify is a text-to-speech platform used by over 50 million people globally to convert PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio. The Platform team is responsible for building and maintaining all backend services including payments, analytics, subscriptions, text-to-speech APIs, and external integrations. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining robust APIs that power the product ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain public TTS APIs and internal APIs (Payment, Subscription, Auth, Consumption Tracking) meeting business and scalability requirements
- Oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability
- Collaborate on B2B solutions with focus on customization and integration for enterprise clients
- Work cross-functionally with product and design teams to align backend architecture with overall strategy
Required qualifications:
- Proven backend development experience with TypeScript/Node.js
- Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact
Preferred qualifications:
- Docker and containerized deployment experience
- Kubernetes and high-availability application deployment experience
