As a Software Engineer on the Payments team, you will design and build highly reliable, API-driven payment systems that integrate with external banks and payment gateways. You'll own complex, large-scale engineering problems end-to-end, translating product requirements into clean, maintainable, well-tested components. Your work will streamline operational workflows, reduce manual processes, and support the company's expansion into new lines of business and digital initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Engineering scalable, resilient payment systems using modern distributed architecture patterns
- Collaborating with product managers, operations, designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality experiences
- Identifying and resolving performance, accessibility, and usability issues
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to shared component libraries
- Supporting operational health of features and maintaining high SLAs
- Driving technical decisions and managing technical debt effectively
You should have deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with comfort in TypeScript/React, Go, and Python. You'll need hands-on experience building scalable architectures with Kafka and Kubernetes, solid understanding of global payment ecosystems and banking APIs, and strong command of software design patterns, distributed systems, and clean code principles. Experience shipping reliable solutions in complex domains is essential.
