Fazz is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer with strong backend expertise to join the Fiat Payment Products team. You will design and operate systems powering fiat and stablecoin payment rails, including a Public API serving deposits, payouts, swaps, and settlement for crypto exchanges, payment service providers, and fintech platforms.
In this role, you will build backend features across payment flows and the Public API, collaborating with product managers and engineers to execute the product roadmap. You'll write clean, well-tested, maintainable code following engineering best practices. A key responsibility is ensuring system availability and reliability through monitoring, stress testing, and maintenance as merchant traffic scales.
You will contribute to architecture decisions and design scalable, secure systems for financial transactions. You'll participate in code reviews, backlog grooming, and sprint planning, while supporting merchant integrations and technical investigations alongside the team. Close collaboration with frontend engineers ensures smooth integration of backend services.
Required qualifications include 1–3 years of backend engineering experience with proficiency in Ruby on Rails or Golang. You need strong SQL and relational database design skills (MySQL or PostgreSQL), solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture, and grounding in system design principles for scalable systems. Comfort with CI/CD concepts and Git version control is essential, along with good written and spoken English.
Preferred experience includes financial systems, payments, or fintech infrastructure; familiarity with crypto, stablecoins, or blockchain; Agile delivery practices; and frontend skills (React, TypeScript, or JavaScript). The role emphasizes technical proficiency, clear communication, ownership, and independent work.
