Snowflake is seeking a Software Engineer to lead the development of Openflow connectors—a platform that enables data integration between Snowflake and external systems including Fortune 500 companies. You will design and build data integration applications that replicate data from relational databases, SaaS platforms, and data streams into Snowflake using CDC (Change Data Capture) patterns.
Key responsibilities include designing and developing scalable data integration applications, extending the connector platform to standardize and accelerate connector development (both internal and third-party), and optimizing ingestion performance while ensuring secure data transfer. You will lead and mentor a group of engineers, collaborate across teams, create design documents for architects and stakeholders, and work closely with product managers and customers to translate business requirements into connector solutions.
The role requires 4+ years of experience designing and building large-scale systems in distributed cloud environments, with fluency in Java and strong SQL/relational database knowledge. You should have a track record of building high-performance, scalable software at internet scale, excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills in cloud environments, and strong communication abilities. The ideal candidate demonstrates proactive curiosity about modern AI tools and has a genuine interest in creating well-architected infrastructure and APIs.
Snowflake is positioning itself as the platform for the agentic enterprise, seeking AI-native thinkers who treat AI as a high-trust collaborator. The engineering team builds cutting-edge cloud technologies serving hundreds of customers and processing millions of complex queries daily across a highly-scalable, reliable data processing platform running on thousands of machines.
