Applied Intuition is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Seoul office and build multi-agent autonomy development tools for defense customers operating unmanned aerial systems. The role focuses on designing and maintaining core features for mission planning, coordination, and training workflows that enable customers to design, train, and validate coordinated UAV behavior. Key responsibilities include developing autonomy development tools with emphasis on multi-agent systems; validating tools through hands-on reference implementations on real airframes; defining simulation strategies across the development lifecycle; collaborating with US-based product and engineering teams on shared roadmaps; contributing to system-level architecture for scalability and reliability; conducting technical deep dives with Korean defense customers to translate operational requirements into product specifications; guiding customers on tool usage; and mentoring Korea-based engineers. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of professional engineering experience in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment, with hands-on expertise in either unmanned aerial systems development (having built and flown real aircraft, understanding end-to-end UAS development and simulation trade-offs) or multi-agent optimization and control (researching or engineering algorithms for multi-agent mission coordination, including ML methods like reinforcement learning). Strong proficiency in Python, C++, or similar languages is required, along with experience on complex multidisciplinary projects, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong English communication for daily collaboration with the US team and customer interactions. Preferred qualifications include experience across both UAV development and multi-agent optimization; familiarity with flight control stacks (PX4, ArduPilot), ground control systems, and data link elements; domain knowledge of ATR, drone swarming, path planning, or aerospace control; and experience building simulation platforms, ML training infrastructure, or developer tooling for robotics and autonomy applications. Applied Intuition is a $15B-valued company founded in 2017, headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, with a global presence including offices in Washington DC, San Diego, London, Stuttgart, Munich, Stockholm, Bangalore, Seoul, and Tokyo. The company powers physical AI across automotive, defense, trucking, construction, mining, and agriculture sectors, trusted by 18 of the top 20 global automakers and the US military. The Seoul office, established in 2020, has grown to over 10 employees with backgrounds from LG, Ansys, Unity, and other leading companies, serving major Korean automotive OEM and defense customers.
