Simular is building AI agents that operate computers to help people and businesses get work done. As the product scales, the company needs robust commercial systems to manage product access, pricing, and revenue. This role focuses on building the backend foundation that converts customer accounts and product usage into reliable billing, payments, and access provisioning.
You will own the core domain models and APIs for customer accounts, organizations, workspaces, plans, pricing, trials, seats, and entitlements. Key responsibilities include designing and building subscription and usage-based billing systems with metering, aggregation, invoicing, credits, proration, and lifecycle flows (upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, recovery). You'll integrate Stripe and future payment providers across checkout, recurring payments, failure handling, refunds, disputes, and webhooks.
A critical part of this role is designing robust, idempotent payment and billing state machines that are replay-safe, observable, and resilient to duplicate, delayed, or out-of-order events. You'll build trustworthy financial records, reconciliation workflows, audit trails, and internal tools for resolving account and billing exceptions. You'll partner closely with product and customer-facing teams to translate commercial requirements into simple, maintainable systems.
This is a SaaS monetization role—not ads monetization, cloud infrastructure, or agent runtime. You'll set a high bar for correctness and operational ownership in systems where billing accuracy directly affects customer trust.
