Anysphere, maker of Cursor (an AI-native code editor), is hiring a Software Engineer for its ML Platform team. The role focuses on building infrastructure that transforms real product usage into better models and accelerates research on large GPU fleets.
The ML Platform organization spans four specialized teams: Telemetry (collection and serving paths for research-trusted data), ML Data Platform (shared environments and pipeline substrates for experiments), Observability (tools for researchers to start, watch, and debug runs), and ML DevX and Systems (reducing friction from idea to trusted research fleet runs). You'll join one of these teams based on your background.
Key responsibilities include designing and building core platform systems used daily by ML researchers and product engineers, partnering closely with research to convert recurring pain points into durable infrastructure, owning reliability and performance for systems in your domain, and shipping iteratively in a flat, high-ownership environment with short feedback loops.
Ideal candidates have strong distributed-systems and infrastructure engineering backgrounds with production experience at meaningful scale (ingestion, data pipelines, scheduling/orchestration). You should be comfortable across Linux, cloud, bare metal, and modern orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Ray). Experience with event ingestion, product analytics, OpenTelemetry, Spark/Flink/Ray, experiment monitoring, or GPU/cluster scheduling is particularly valued depending on team fit.
Anysphere operates a flat organization with a small, talent-dense team that values truth-seeking, passion, creativity, spirited debate, and shipping code. The company maintains in-person offices in North Beach and Palo Alto (San Francisco Bay Area) and Manhattan (New York).
