Salary: USD 162,000 - 260,000 / annual
Aurora is building self-driving technology for commercial transportation. The Mapping Infrastructure Team is responsible for two critical systems: the Aurora Atlas (a versioned HD mapping system supporting continuous editing, validation, simulation, and vehicle release processes) and the Fleet Intelligence system (a dynamic map delivering real-time data to vehicles, including unexpected signs, weather events, and map anomalies).
As a Software Engineer on this team, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend infrastructure and data processing pipelines for storing and serving map data as Aurora expands its commercial routes. You'll establish robust testing and performance optimization practices to ensure system stability and scalability, and partner closely with internal and external customers to influence product design and features.
The role requires 4+ years building server-side and data processing systems, with deep understanding of distributed systems principles and proven ability to deliver scalable, reliable backends. You must have strong cloud-native technology experience (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes) and production-level proficiency in C++ or Go. Experience with geospatial data, mapping systems, or high-throughput data pipelines is desirable.
