Okta is seeking a Software Engineer Manager to lead the Okta Developer Foundation (ODF) team, driving engineering velocity and continuous delivery excellence. This role combines strategic technical leadership with people management, focusing on building AI/ML-powered developer tools and automation to enhance engineering productivity across the organization.
You will own the vision and roadmap for internal developer tools and continuous delivery infrastructure, working across distributed teams globally. Key responsibilities include recruiting and mentoring a talented, diverse engineering team; collaborating with Engineering, Security, Program Management, and Operations; and championing engineering excellence through metrics and process improvements.
The role emphasizes building high-quality automation and tools for internal use, rolling out deliverables in phases, and iterating based on feedback from internal customers. You'll drive strategy for incorporating AI/ML capabilities into CI/CD pipelines, articulate technical vision, and foster innovation while maintaining operational excellence.
Required experience includes a minimum of 3 years leading or managing high-performing platform teams, end-to-end project delivery, and production experience with distributed systems on AWS (GCP a bonus). You should have hands-on familiarity with continuous delivery pipelines, technologies like Java, Jenkins, Docker, Python, and internal developer tool development. Strong facilitation and agile methodology skills are essential.
