Twilio is hiring a Software Engineer (L2) to join the SendGrid team, working on large-scale distributed systems that process billions of emails. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building, deploying, and managing highly available infrastructure. Key responsibilities include shipping reliable features at scale that deliver customer value, performing thorough code reviews to maintain code quality standards, identifying key system metrics and ensuring adequate monitoring coverage for data storage and analytical services, and taking creative initiative to solve complex technical challenges. The role involves redesigning backend services to improve scalability, strengthening service security, enhancing the customer journey through new solutions, and developing product offerings that provide actionable insights into email program health. You'll work cross-functionally with engineering and product teams to understand customer challenges and craft solutions. Required qualifications: 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated skill progression, proficiency with Go or similar typed languages (Java, C#, C++, Rust), ability to implement reliable and maintainable components, automation-minded approach to processes and tasks, strong collaboration skills, self-driven ownership mentality, and a degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. Desired qualifications include experience with Docker and containerization technologies. Twilio is remote-first but may request occasional in-person attendance for team gatherings, functional off-sites, or customer meetings.
