Arista Networks is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Platform team's Kernel software group in Dublin. The Kernel team is responsible for maintaining pace with Linux Kernel developments and integrating them for internal use and as the base for Arista EOS. In this role, you will work closely with hardware and chip programming, extending and developing new kernel features, collaborating with the kernel community to integrate work upstream, and managing CPU subsystems across all Arista products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating new CPUs and working with CPU/BIOS vendors to integrate their stacks into EOS
- Performing bringup and qualification of components into hardware products
- Owning projects from definition through deployment and customer interactions
- Adding new features, debugging problems, and fine-tuning code for scalability and performance
- Ensuring quality across all deliverables

Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
- 5+ years of experience with C or C++ and Python
- Hands-on experience working on Linux Kernel software (preferred)
- Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems (preferred)
- Applied understanding of software engineering principles
- Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills
- Ability to design and implement solutions successfully
