Adyen is a global fintech platform providing payments, data, and financial products for enterprise customers including Facebook, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The Unified Platform initiative is rethinking five core product areas: platform experience, accounting systems, reporting & reconciliation, billing & pricing infrastructure, and observability & tooling. In this role, you will work on complex technical projects across the full lifecycle—from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing, and production launch. You'll be hands-on, contributing directly to implementation while identifying opportunities to improve platform robustness and scalability. Your work will operate at scale, impacting millions of merchants and shoppers globally. Key responsibilities include: - Designing and implementing complex features in a fast-paced environment with rapid iteration cycles - Building APIs and tooling that meet high standards for performance and code quality - Contributing to distributed systems architecture and best practices - Collaborating across teams and time zones with Data Science, Frontend, and Product partners - Bringing your own perspective on engineering practices and product knowledge You should have 5+ years of professional software development experience in fast-paced tech environments. Strong expertise in Java, Web Services, REST APIs, Webhooks, and SQL/PostgreSQL is required. You understand distributed systems, value software engineering best practices, and thrive in cross-functional collaboration. An experimental mindset and launch-fast-iterate mentality are essential. This is an office-first role based in Amsterdam, with a strong emphasis on in-person collaboration.
