Adyen is a global financial technology platform providing payments, data, and financial products for major customers like Facebook, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The Screening team sits at the core of Adyen's platform, responsible for processing transactions safely and ensuring compliance with diverse global regulatory frameworks.
In this role, you will build solutions that enable Adyen's global growth while maintaining compliance. You'll work across the full project lifecycle from ideation to production, with exposure to backend systems, ML/AI, and big data technologies. The team is pioneering GenAI-powered applications within Adyen, presenting novel technical challenges and opportunities to shape emerging development paradigms.
You'll collaborate across cross-functional teams, actively shaping the product roadmap in close partnership with team leadership. Your responsibilities include designing and productionizing scalable, compliant solutions; coaching other engineers; and articulating complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Required experience: 6+ years as a software engineer with proficiency in Java and demonstrated expertise building Java-based web services (RESTful, SOAP). You should have strong experience designing performant database models in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, and deep knowledge of software architecture paradigms including event-driven and message queueing systems. Experience in cross-functional product teams within larger organizations is highly valued. You must demonstrate excellent communication skills, industry-standard engineering practices, and the ability to drive technical roadmaps collaboratively.
