Adyen is a global financial technology platform providing payments, data, and financial products for enterprise customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The Authentication & Tokenization team operates at the intersection of high-grade security and conversion optimization, delivering robust solutions for global commerce.
You will join a team building distributed, high-performance systems that securely vault payment credentials and dynamically optimize transaction flows. These systems are core pillars of Adyen Uplift, an AI-powered payment optimization suite designed to maximize conversion rates and reduce transaction costs for global merchants.
Based in Bengaluru, one of the world's most dynamic fintech hubs, the team navigates intricate compliance frameworks including RBI's Card-on-File Tokenization (CoFT) and multi-factor authentication mandates. You will design and scale low-latency, highly resilient distributed systems processing millions of daily transactions across APAC, Europe, and the Americas.
In this role, you will:
- Build and maintain the distributed high-performance platform handling authentication and tokenization
- Take complete end-to-end ownership of mission-critical architecture from initial design through production deployment
- Launch features rapidly and iterate often—within your first weeks, you'll ship code impacting many businesses and shoppers
- Identify and improve platform components to enhance robustness and scalability
- Collaborate across teams and time zones, review code, and incorporate feedback
- Contribute to core financial data processes and finance infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
You bring 1+ years (SDE1) or 3+ years (SDE2) of experience with object-oriented programming, particularly Java. You are flexible, detail-oriented, and take ownership of projects. You write testable code, communicate complex technical concepts clearly, and are proficient in English. Experience with the tech stack (Java 21, RESTful web services, SQL/PostgreSQL, MyBatis, Tomcat, Gradle, CockroachDB, Elasticsearch) is valued.
