Scopely, a leading video game and interactive entertainment company, is hiring a Software Engineer to join the Royal Lounge Casino Studio team in Bangalore on a hybrid basis. Royal Lounge Casino is a top-grossing social casino app that continues to evolve and reach millions of players globally.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, test, and maintain backend features and APIs for a highly scalable, low-latency system. You'll write clean, efficient, and secure Java code following Secure SDLC principles, participate in design discussions and code reviews, and communicate effectively with product managers, QA teams, and clients to align on requirements and delivery milestones.
Key responsibilities include developing backend features and REST APIs, implementing defensive coding practices, addressing security vulnerabilities through peer reviews and automated scans (SAST/SCA), providing production support and troubleshooting, and maintaining technical documentation.
You should have 2+ years of professional Java development experience with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OOP, and design patterns. Hands-on experience with SOA and REST architecture is required, along with proficiency in Scrum/Agile environments.
Desirable qualifications include practical experience with Java microservices in cloud-first environments (AWS services like EC2, ECS/Fargate, S3, RDS, CloudWatch), NoSQL databases (MongoDB preferred), secure programming knowledge (OWASP Top 10), multi-threaded programming, and a passion for building low-latency, high-concurrency systems. Bonus skills include secure coding frameworks (OAuth2, JWT), automated security analysis tools (SonarQube, Snyk, Veracode), CI/CD automation, and serverless architectures (AWS Lambda). A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
