Beacon AI is building an AI platform to enhance flight safety, efficiency, and capability in aviation. The company is backed by top investors and has secured a dozen Department of Defense contracts while partnering with major airlines to deliver mission-critical systems.
As an iOS Software Engineer, you will join a small, focused mobile team to develop high-impact iOS applications supporting the flight safety platform. You'll work closely with senior engineers, designers, and product managers to build user-facing features and contribute to production systems that directly improve aviation safety and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and modern iOS frameworks
- Collaborate with senior engineers to build and maintain reliable, high-performance mobile applications
- Integrate with internal and external APIs to support real-time data and application functionality
- Partner with designers and product managers to deliver intuitive, user-friendly mobile experiences
- Participate in code reviews and follow established iOS best practices and architectural patterns
- Ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability through testing and documentation
You should have 2+ years of iOS development experience (or equivalent through internships, projects, or coursework), proficiency with Swift and SwiftUI, familiarity with asynchronous programming concepts (async/await, multithreading, GCD), and basic experience with networking and APIs. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment are essential.
Bonus qualifications include passion for aviation, exposure to mapping frameworks (Mapbox, MapKit), interest in real-time data and sensor systems, and familiarity with CI/CD workflows or cloud-backed mobile systems.
The role is hybrid based in San Carlos, CA, requiring 3+ days per week onsite with flexibility to work remotely on remaining days.
