Beacon AI is building an AI platform to enhance flight safety, efficiency, and capability in aviation. The company is backed by top investors, holds a dozen Department of Defense contracts, and partners with major airlines to deliver mission-critical systems. The team operates with minimal silos and heavy processes, enabling small focused teams to own their work, ship quickly, and iterate based on real-world feedback. As an iOS Software Engineer, you will join the mobile team to develop high-impact iOS applications supporting the flight safety platform. Working closely with senior engineers, designers, and product managers, you'll design and implement iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and modern iOS frameworks. You'll integrate with internal and external APIs to support real-time data and application functionality, collaborate on intuitive user experiences, and participate in code reviews following established iOS best practices. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining reliable, high-performance mobile applications; ensuring code quality through testing and documentation; and contributing to production systems that directly impact aviation safety and operational efficiency. You'll grow your iOS expertise while working on real-time, safety-critical applications. Successful candidates bring 2+ years of iOS development experience (or equivalent through internships and projects), proficiency with Swift and SwiftUI, familiarity with asynchronous programming (async/await, multithreading, GCD), and basic experience with networking and APIs. Strong problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn from mentorship, and ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment are essential. Bonus qualifications include passion for aviation, exposure to mapping frameworks (Mapbox, MapKit), interest in real-time data and sensor systems, and familiarity with CI/CD workflows. This is a hybrid role based in San Carlos, CA, requiring 3+ days per week onsite with flexibility for remote work on remaining days. Full-time employees receive comprehensive healthcare (100% employee premiums covered), 3 weeks PTO plus 13+ paid holidays, and 401(k) benefits.
