Beacon AI is building an AI platform to enhance flight safety, efficiency, and capability for aviation. The company is backed by top investors, holds a dozen Department of Defense contracts, and partners with major airlines to deliver mission-critical systems. The team operates with minimal silos and heavy processes, enabling small focused teams to own their work, ship quickly, and iterate based on real-world feedback. As an iOS Software Engineer, you will join the mobile team to develop high-impact iOS applications supporting the flight safety platform. Working alongside senior engineers, designers, and product managers, you'll design and implement iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and modern iOS frameworks. Your responsibilities include integrating with internal and external APIs to support real-time data and application functionality, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive user experiences, and participating in code reviews to maintain iOS best practices and architectural patterns. You'll contribute to production systems that are safety-critical and real-time in nature, helping ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability through testing and documentation. This role offers the opportunity to grow your iOS expertise while working on applications that directly advance flight safety and operational efficiency in the aviation industry. Successful candidates will have 2+ years of iOS development experience (or equivalent through internships and projects), proficiency with Swift and SwiftUI, familiarity with asynchronous programming concepts (async/await, multithreading, GCD), and basic experience with networking and APIs. Strong problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn from mentorship, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment are essential. Bonus qualifications include passion for aviation, exposure to mapping frameworks (Mapbox, MapKit), interest in real-time data and sensor systems, and familiarity with CI/CD workflows. The role is hybrid based in San Carlos, CA, requiring 3+ days per week onsite with flexibility to work remotely on remaining days. Full-time employees receive comprehensive healthcare (100% employee medical premiums, 25% dependent coverage), 3 weeks PTO plus 13+ paid holidays, monthly phone and wellness stipends, and a 401(k) plan.
