With ~200 employees across a fully distributed, office-free organization, Speechify is hiring a Senior iOS Engineer to support rapid growth of its iOS app (currently ranked #18 in the App Store productivity category) and develop new features aligned with the company's mission to remove reading as a barrier to learning.
In this role, you will actively ship production code for the iOS app, lead key engineering and product decisions, work within a dedicated product team, participate in roadmap discussions, and maintain the app's complex architecture. You'll have the opportunity to shape product direction and work on features that directly impact millions of users, many of whom have learning differences like dyslexia, ADD, low vision, autism, and second-language learners.
Ideal candidates have experience scaling products to large user bases, a track record of shipping from inception through traction, strong product thinking, and obsession with customer experience. You should be comfortable working quickly in a high-growth startup environment, know how to prioritize what ships now versus what needs time, and excel at both collaborative and independent work. Technical requirements include proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI, multithreading, CI/CD infrastructure, Fastlane, SOLID principles, and Git workflows.
