Speechify is a text-to-speech platform used by over 50 million people to convert PDFs, books, Google Docs, articles, and websites into audio. The company was recently named Chrome Extension of the Year by Google and App of the Day by Apple, and won Apple's 2025 Design Award for inclusivity. With ~200 employees globally in a fully distributed setting, Speechify is hiring a Senior iOS Engineer to support rapid growth of its iOS app, currently ranked #18 in the App Store productivity category. In this role, you will actively ship production code for the Speechify iOS app, lead key engineering and product decisions, work within a dedicated product team, participate in product discussions to shape the roadmap, and maintain the complex app architecture. You'll have the opportunity to influence product direction and work on new features that push the company's mission of making reading accessible to all. Ideal candidates have experience scaling products to large user bases, a track record of taking products from inception to traction, and strong product thinking. You should be customer-obsessed, work at speed, and know how to balance focus in a fast-paced remote environment. Technical requirements include proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI, multithreading, CI/CD infrastructure, Fastlane, SOLID principles, and Git workflows. Speechy values flat organizational structure where excellent technical skills and consistent delivery create leadership opportunities. The company emphasizes work ethic, communication, and a winning mindset. You'll work on a product with profound real-world impact—users frequently share that Speechify has transformed their ability to learn and access information, particularly those with dyslexia, ADD, low vision, autism, and other learning differences.
