Speechify is a text-to-speech platform used by over 50 million people to convert PDFs, books, Google Docs, articles, and websites into audio. The company recently earned Apple's 2025 Design Award for inclusivity and was named Chrome Extension of the Year by Google. With 200+ employees across a fully distributed, 100% remote organization, Speechify is hiring a Senior iOS Engineer to support rapid growth of its iOS app (currently ranked #18 in the App Store's productivity category) and develop new features aligned with the company's mission to remove reading as a barrier to learning.
In this role, you will actively ship production code for the Speechify iOS app, lead key engineering and product decisions, work within a dedicated product team, and participate in roadmap discussions. You'll maintain and enhance the app's complex architecture while collaborating with designers and internal teams to shape product direction. The ideal candidate has experience scaling products to large user bases, a track record of shipping products from inception through traction, and strong product thinking skills. You should be customer-obsessed, work at high velocity, and know how to balance speed with thoughtful technical decisions.
Required technical skills include Swift, SwiftUI, multithreading programming, CI/CD infrastructure, Fastlane, SOLID principles, and Git. You'll thrive in a flat organization where excellent technical execution and consistent delivery create leadership opportunities. The company values work ethic, solid communication, and a winning mindset. Speechify's fully asynchronous culture supports a global team and emphasizes autonomy and focus. The role offers competitive salary (€30,000–€120,000 USD annually plus bonus and stock), the chance to impact millions of users daily, and the opportunity to work at the intersection of AI and audio in one of tech's fastest-growing sectors.
