Speechify is a text-to-speech platform used by over 50 million people to convert PDFs, books, Google Docs, articles, and websites into audio. The company was recently recognized as Apple's 2025 Design Award winner for Inclusivity and Google's Chrome Extension of the Year. With ~200 employees globally in a fully distributed setting, Speechify is hiring a Senior iOS Engineer to support growth of its iOS app (currently the #18 productivity app on the App Store) and develop new features aligned with the company's mission to remove reading as a barrier to learning. In this role, you will lead key engineering and product decisions, actively ship production code for the iOS app, work within a dedicated product team, participate in product roadmap discussions, and maintain the app's complex architecture. You'll have the opportunity to shape product direction and work on features that directly impact millions of users, many of whom have learning differences like dyslexia, ADD, low vision, and autism. Ideal candidates have experience scaling products to large user bases, a track record of shipping products from inception through traction, and strong product thinking skills. You should be customer-obsessed, work at speed, and know how to balance focus in a fast-paced remote environment. Technical requirements include proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI, multithreading programming, CI/CD infrastructure, Fastlane, SOLID principles, and Git workflows. Speechy offers a competitive salary ($140k–$200k USD annually plus bonus and equity), the chance to work on a transformative product in the AI and audio space, and a collegiate, asynchronous remote culture. The company values entrepreneurial thinking, risk-taking, and hustle, and you'll work alongside engineers from Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Stanford, and high-growth startups like Stripe and Vercel.
