Speechify is a text-to-speech platform used by over 50 million people to convert PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio. With 200+ employees globally in a fully distributed setting, Speechify is hiring a Senior iOS Engineer to support rapid growth of its iOS app, currently ranked #18 in the App Store's productivity category.
In this role, you will actively ship production code for the Speechify iOS app while participating in key engineering and product decisions. You'll work within a dedicated product team, contribute to product discussions that shape the roadmap, and maintain the app's complex architecture. The position offers significant opportunity to lead technical direction and influence product strategy in a flat organization where strong technical execution and results drive advancement.
You should have a track record of building products that scaled to large user bases, from inception through significant traction. Experience shipping features end-to-end and owning engineering outcomes is essential. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with product thinking—you make thoughtful decisions about product evolution, support designers and internal teams in choosing the right direction, and balance speed with focus in a high-growth startup environment.
Required technical skills include Swift, SwiftUI, multithreading programming, CI/CD infrastructure, Fastlane, SOLID principles, and Git. You should be customer-obsessed, capable of working quickly to generate and prioritize ideas, and comfortable in asynchronous remote settings.
