Speechify is a text-to-speech platform used by over 50 million people to convert PDFs, books, Google Docs, articles, and websites into audio. With ~200 employees across a fully distributed, asynchronous organization, Speechify is hiring a Senior iOS Engineer to lead development on its iOS app, currently the #18 productivity app in the App Store.
In this role, you will actively ship production code for the iOS app, lead key engineering and product decisions, work within a dedicated product team, and participate in product discussions to shape the roadmap. You'll maintain and enhance the complex app architecture while collaborating with designers and internal teams to ensure the best user experience.
You should have a track record of building products from inception to scale, with experience shipping to large user bases. Strong product thinking is essential—you'll make thoughtful decisions about product evolution and help guide the team's direction. You must be customer-obsessed, focused on delivering exceptional experiences to users with learning differences (dyslexia, ADD, low vision, autism, etc.) and professionals worldwide.
Technical requirements include proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI, multithreading programming, CI/CD infrastructure, Fastlane, SOLID principles, and Git workflows. You should work quickly, know how to prioritize what ships now versus what needs more time, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
