Speechify is a text-to-speech platform used by over 50 million people to convert PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio. With ~200 employees globally in a fully distributed setting, Speechify is hiring a Senior iOS Engineer to support rapid growth of its iOS app, currently ranked #18 in the App Store's productivity category.
In this role, you will actively ship production code for the Speechify iOS app, lead key engineering and product decisions, and participate in product discussions to shape the roadmap. You'll work within a dedicated product team to maintain and enhance the app's complex architecture while collaborating with designers and internal teams on product direction. You should have experience scaling products to large user bases, a track record of shipping products from inception through traction, and strong product thinking skills. Customer obsession is essential—you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional user experiences. You must be comfortable working quickly in a high-growth startup environment, balancing speed with thoughtful decision-making about what ships now versus what needs more time.
Required technical skills include Swift, SwiftUI, multithreading programming, CI/CD infrastructure, Fastlane, SOLID principles, and Git. You'll work on a product that directly impacts millions of users, including people with dyslexia, ADD, low vision, autism, and other learning differences.
