Speechify is a text-to-speech platform used by over 50 million people to convert PDFs, books, Google Docs, articles, and websites into audio. The iOS app is currently the #18 productivity app in the App Store.
You'll join a 100% distributed team of ~200 people globally, including engineers from Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Stanford PhD researchers, and founders. There is no physical office.
In this role, you will:
- Lead key engineering and product decisions for the iOS platform
- Ship production code actively for the Speechify iOS app
- Work within a dedicated product team on core features
- Participate in product discussions to shape the roadmap
- Maintain and enhance the complex app architecture
You should have:
- Proven experience building products that scaled to large user bases
- Track record shipping products from inception through traction, with engineering ownership
- Deep customer obsession and commitment to excellent user experience
- Product thinking: ability to make thoughtful decisions about product evolution and guide design/strategy
- Speed and focus: ability to work quickly, prioritize what ships now vs. later, and manage async remote work
- Technical expertise: Swift, SwiftUI, multithreading, CI/CD infrastructure, Fastlane, SOLID principles, Git
