Speechify is a text-to-speech platform used by over 50 million people to convert PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio. The company recently earned Apple's 2025 Design Award for inclusivity and was named Chrome Extension of the Year by Google. With ~200 employees globally in a fully distributed setting, Speechify is hiring a Senior iOS Engineer to support rapid growth of its iOS app, currently ranked #18 in the App Store's productivity category.
In this role, you will lead key engineering and product decisions for the iOS platform, actively ship production code, and work within a dedicated product team to shape the roadmap. You'll maintain and enhance the app's complex architecture while participating in strategic product discussions. This is a high-impact position ideal for someone who thinks strategically, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is passionate about making thoughtful product decisions.
You should have a proven track record shipping products that scaled to large user bases, from inception through traction. Strong product thinking is essential—you'll guide internal teams and designers toward the right direction. Technical expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, multithreading, CI/CD infrastructure, and Fastlane is required. You must understand SOLID principles deeply, have Git proficiency, and demonstrate customer obsession. The ideal candidate works quickly, knows how to prioritize what ships now versus what needs time, and can balance engagement with focused heads-down work in a remote environment.
Speechify's mission is to ensure reading is never a barrier to learning. The product directly supports people with dyslexia, ADD, low vision, concussions, autism, and second-language learners. You'll work alongside engineers from Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Stanford PhD programs, and founders of high-growth startups like Stripe, Vercel, and Bolt. The company values work ethic, solid communication, and obsession with winning in a flat organizational structure where excellent technical skills and consistent results create leadership opportunities.
