Rogo is an AI-powered platform transforming financial workflows for investment banks, private equity, and investment firms. As a Backend Software Engineer on the Internal Automation team, you will own end-to-end internal systems that automate operational work across the company—turning ambiguous problems into production services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own internal systems end-to-end: Take operational challenges and build production services for routing, approvals, notifications, reporting, provisioning, and workflow automation currently managed manually or in spreadsheets.
- Build the internal data layer: Integrate disparate systems of record (CRM, product usage, billing, call recordings, support history, third-party enrichment) into a unified, reliable, queryable view of accounts and customer interactions.
- Ship autonomous agents: Design and deploy agent workflows that perform real work—research, enrichment, drafting, summarization, data entry, systems hygiene—with robust evals, guardrails, and monitoring for production reliability.
- Automate the customer lifecycle: Build provisioning, onboarding, and account setup systems to scale enterprise customer operations without implementation becoming a bottleneck.
- Leverage Rogo's AI infrastructure: Use the same techniques and infrastructure powering the product to build internal automations, becoming a demanding internal user whose learnings feed back to core platform teams.
- Handle data with care: Build secure, compliant integrations meeting the highest standards for internal and enterprise customer data privacy and reliability.
- Measure impact: Instrument systems and track real metrics—hours returned, error rates, cycle time—retiring what doesn't earn its keep.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field; 2+ years shipping and operating production backend systems end-to-end; strong TypeScript for backend services; hands-on GCP or equivalent cloud deployment; strong SQL and relational database design; demonstrated LLM production experience (prompting, function calling, retrieval, agents, evals, guardrails); fluency integrating third-party APIs; working knowledge of async patterns (queuing, background jobs, scheduling, idempotency, observability); exceptional communication with non-technical stakeholders; track record shipping high-quality software autonomously in fast-moving environments; demonstrated passion for AI agents and automation; interest in corporate finance and capital markets a strong plus.
