Vanta is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Integrations Platform team within Vanta Government Cloud. The mission is to power the world's largest trust automation ecosystem, enabling seamless building, connecting, and automating of trust workflows.
In this role, you'll design, build, and own full-stack features and platform primitives that internal teams, partners, and customers depend on. You'll deploy, operate, support, and maintain integrations running in Vanta's Government Cloud, including monitoring, incident response, and change management within the GovCloud boundary. The team owns Vanta's integration ecosystem within the US Government Cloud, currently spanning Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), Identity Providers, Mobile Device Management (MDM), and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
Key responsibilities include: designing and building full-stack features and platform primitives; deploying and operating integrations in Government Cloud with on-call/incident response duties; contributing to authentication, data-ingestion, and schema-evolution services; partnering with federal subject-matter experts to implement continuous-monitoring detectors and automated tests with versioned framework mappings; building secure, well-documented, scalable services and UI with TypeScript, React, and Node.js; improving performance and operational excellence; and leveraging AI tools to accelerate development.
You'll need 6+ years of full-stack development experience building reliable, scalable, fault-tolerant systems. Strong platform and API design skills are essential—you should have built APIs and reusable components others depend on, with solid grounding in RESTful APIs, authentication protocols (OAuth, API keys, JWT), and security best practices. Data integration experience is critical: you've built data ingestion from external systems using rate limiting, retries, idempotency, and webhooks. You think systemically about scale, reliability, and failure modes, and you collaborate effectively with internal teams, federal agencies, vendors, and third-party assessors. Interest in security or compliance and openness to using AI to amplify skills are important.
Preferred qualifications include familiarity with compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, FISMA) and experience building or operating in regulated cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, GCP). Startup or bias-for-action experience is a bonus.
Vanta is a Series D company with strong product-market fit and rapid growth. The company offers industry-competitive salary and equity, comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage with 100% employee-only premium coverage, and 16 weeks fully-paid parental leave.
