Lumos is an Autonomous Identity Platform that helps enterprises manage access risk and identity governance at scale. The company has grown from stealth (April 2022) to ~130 employees, raised $65M+ from a16z, Scale, and Neo, and serves customers including GitHub, MongoDB, Mars, Pinterest, Anduril, Intercom, Roku, and Netskope.
You will own the evolution of Lumos's Integrations Platform—the core infrastructure that connects enterprise systems including cloud identity providers (Okta, Azure AD), HR systems (Workday), on-prem applications, and ITSMs. This is a foundational platform that powers seamless, secure, and scalable data and permissions flow across customer environments.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and implement core components of the Integrations Platform: APIs, event-driven systems, and connector orchestration layers supporting cloud and on-prem integrations.
- Build and extend the integration framework with reusable patterns for authentication, job retries, error handling, observability, and developer onboarding.
- Deliver high-performance, secure, and maintainable integrations with external systems (Okta, Workday, Azure AD, ServiceNow, etc.).
- Create delightful developer experiences through SDKs, CLI tools, and documentation for both internal and external developers.
- Drive technical decisions, lead architecture reviews, mentor engineers, and pair on complex problems.
- Champion resilience, observability, and scalability across the integrations stack.
You will work across platform, product, and infrastructure teams in a startup culture that values ownership, curiosity, and trust. The role involves solving hard systems problems with empathy and creativity, and shipping work that thousands of IT and security teams use daily.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience as a backend or platform engineer building scalable services, APIs, or integrations.
- Experience with enterprise integration patterns: webhooks, event queues, third-party APIs, hybrid cloud/on-prem environments.
- Proficiency in one or more modern backend languages (Python, Go, TypeScript) with strong knowledge of API design, system performance, and software architecture.
- Familiarity with identity and access management systems: SCIM, OAuth2, SAML, IDPs, HRIS tools.
- Thoughtful approach to developer experience in systems design and technical communication.
- Bias toward action, high bar for quality, track record of shipping platform features that scale and are loved by developers.
